Dr. Ana Baptista is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management program and Director of The New School’s Tishman Environment and Design Center (TEDC). Her work focuses on environmental justice (EJ) and climate justice, emphasizing community-engaged scholarship and policy advocacy. She leads initiatives like the Centering Justice Symposium and advises on federal climate policies.

Research Interests: EJ policy frameworks, cumulative impacts legislation, waste justice, climate adaptation strategies, and participatory action research. Recent work includes New Jersey’s landmark EJ law and federal carbon management critiques.
