Amélie Neuve-Eglise serves as a Lecturer at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO), with dual departmental affiliations in the Eurasia Department - Persian Studies Section and the Arabic Studies Department. She holds the significant administrative position of Deputy Director of the Eurasia Department and contributes to academic governance as a Member of the scientific committee of Inalco Press.
Dr. Neuve-Eglise specializes in Shiite Islam, Arabic and Persian Philosophies from the Classical Period, and Contemporary Issues in the Persian-speaking World. Her research focuses on the Doctrines and practices of Shiism, Religious anthropology of contemporary Iran, and Shiite pilgrimage practices, conducted through the CERMOM research team. Her academic expertise spans Eurasia and the Near and Middle East regions, with language proficiency in Literal Arabic and Persian.
Her teaching encompasses both historical and contemporary aspects of Islamic studies, with particular emphasis on philosophical traditions and current developments in Persian-speaking societies. As Deputy Director of the Eurasia Department, she plays a key role in shaping academic direction and departmental administration while maintaining an active research profile in religious anthropology and Shiite studies.
