Amy Wang is a Structural & Computational Biologist at Genentech's Prescient Design, focusing on de novo protein design by integrating physics-based and data-driven approaches. She joined the De Novo team in 2023 after completing her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Stanford University and an internship at Microsoft Research.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University (2023)
- S.B. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2018)
Research Interests center on developing predictive models that combine biophysics, structural biology, and machine learning to enhance protein property prediction and design. Her work explores force-dependent protein interactions, allosteric regulation, and the application of deep learning in therapeutic antibody and nanoparticle design.
Scientific Awards & Honors:
- University Nominee for the Schmidt Science Fellows (2022)
- Stanford Graduate Fellowship in Science & Engineering (2018)
- ChemH Chemistry/Biology Interface Fellow (2018)
- NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (2018)
Contributions include advancements in lab-in-the-loop antibody design, discrete diffusion models for protein engineering, and pH-triggered drug delivery systems. Her earlier work at Stanford and Microsoft Research laid the foundation for integrating experimental biophysics with computational methods.
