Amy Walker

Amy Walker is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry (1998) and a B.A. in Natural Sciences (Physics/Theoretical Physics) from the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on developing robust materials for complex surface engineering through interfacial chemistry manipulation, particularly in self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), metallic contacts, and semiconductor/SAM interactions. Key applications include molecular electronics, catalysis, and optoelectronics.

Walker employs advanced techniques like TOF-SIMS and RAIRS, alongside density functional theory (DFT) calculations. She has held roles such as Chair of the American Vacuum Society (AVS) Board of Trustees (2018) and has been recognized with awards including the ACS PROGRESS/Dreyfus Lectureship (2008) and DuPont Young Professor Grant (2006–2009).
