Amy Tovar is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and currently serves as Senior Vice President & General Counsel for the San Francisco Giants. She specializes in legal matters spanning baseball operations, league relations, corporate governance, and strategic planning. She is an executive sponsor of the Giants’ women’s network and a member of the Giants DE&I Council.
Education: J.D. from Stanford Law School; A.B. in Political Science and American Studies from Stanford University.
Her professional experience includes roles as Associate General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Transportation during the Obama Administration, litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, and a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Joel Flaum on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. She currently sits on the board of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the SF Bay Area.
As a founder of Bay FC, the Bay Area’s professional women’s soccer team, she demonstrates commitment to promoting gender equality in sports.
