Amy Thomasson is an Associate Lecturer at the UWA Law School, specializing in teaching Law for Everyday Lives (Bachelor of Arts) and Family Law (JD). She previously served as an Associate to the Hon Justice Vaughan in the Supreme Court of Western Australia’s Court of Appeal and practiced family law. Her research focuses on health law and policy (particularly reproductive technology), family law, and legal education. She is a Research Associate on the MRFF-funded MandEval project examining Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Research Interests: Amy’s work addresses health law, reproductive technology, family law (especially family violence), and pedagogical strategies in legal education. Her interdisciplinary approach includes collaboration across law, ethics, and public health.

Advising & Grants: Current project: MandEval (MRFF-funded). Past roles include Research Assistant (UWA Law School, 2019–2021) and Sessional Tutor (2022–2023).
Labs/Teams: Member of the Human Research Ethics Committee (South Metropolitan Area Health Service) and Central Human Research Ethics Committee (WA Department of Health).
