Amy Shah

Amy Shah, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of its Division of Endocrinology. Her clinical and research interests focus on diabetes subtypes including type 1 diabetes, post-transplant diabetes, and diabetes in pregnancy. She joined UT Southwestern's faculty in 2019 after completing residency and fellowship training there.

• Education: Bachelor’s in Biology & Economics (Boston University, cum laude), MD from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (with honors), residency and endocrinology fellowship at UT Southwestern

Professional affiliations include the American Diabetes Association (Early Career Advisory Group member) and Endocrine Society (Hormone Health Network Committee). Her medical certifications include American Board of Internal Medicine specialization in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Outside academia, she enjoys outdoor activities like running, hiking, and biking, as well as culinary pursuits with family.
