Amy Schachle is the Interim Chair of Mathematics and an Instructional Assistant Professor of Mathematics at The University of Tulsa. She holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma (2003) and a B.A. in Mathematics from Mills College (2001). With over two decades of teaching experience, she focuses on engaging students in understanding foundational mathematical concepts and fostering enjoyment of mathematics.
Her professional involvement includes leadership roles in the Tulsa Math Teachers’ Circle, Tulsa Girls’ Math Circle, and Sonia Kovalevsky Day, which support math education for K-12 students and teachers. She actively participates in professional development workshops for educators and is a member of the Oklahoma-Arkansas Section of the Mathematical Association of America.
Awarded the Dean’s Faculty Excellence Award in 2024, Dr. Schachle emphasizes innovative teaching methods in calculus and undergraduate mathematics education. Though no specific grants or lab affiliations are noted, her contributions to community-driven math initiatives highlight her dedication to accessible education.
