Amy Raines-Milenkov

Amy Raines-Milenkov is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, part of the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She specializes in maternal and child health, with a focus on vulnerable populations such as refugee women and those with adverse birth outcomes. Her roles include Director of the federally funded Healthy Start program, member of Texas’s Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Task Force, and Chair of Tarrant County’s Early Childhood Wellness Council.

Her work includes the Building Bridges Initiative, a Texas-funded project providing cancer screening to refugees. Over 30+ sponsored projects since 2012 address maternal mortality, postpartum education, and multiethnic health equity. Recent publications explore alcohol use in refugee communities, postpartum health literacy, and hepatitis B interventions.

Grants and collaborations include partnerships with Tarrant County Public Health and the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas. She leads efforts to reduce perinatal disparities through culturally tailored outreach and policy advocacy.
