Amy M. Tomas is the Director of Undergraduate Programs and a Senior Lecturer at the Grossman School of Business, University of Vermont. She also coordinates the Eugene and Joan Kalkin Retailing Initiative. Her expertise spans Retail Management, Product Management, and Innovation. Dr. Tomas holds a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis, an MBA, and a BSBA from the University of Akron.
Research Interests: Dr. Tomas investigates the impact of technological, societal, and competitive changes on retailer-consumer dynamics. Her work bridges academic theory with practical retail challenges, focusing on evolving consumer behaviors and industry adaptations.
Grants & Collaborations: She has secured research funding from organizations like the FedEx Center for Cycle Time Research, Caterpillar, Inc., and The International Council of Shopping Centers. Her publications appear in journals such as Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Marketing Education, alongside proceedings from the Academy of Marketing Science and others.
Professional Engagement: Serves on editorial review boards, actively participates in marketing organizations, and advises the Mount Family Group locally. Office hours are Tuesdays/Wednesdays 1:30–2:30 p.m.
