Education:
- Ph.D., Stony Brook University (2009)
Research Focus: Dr. Lu's work centers on behavioral endocrinology, reproductive physiology, and sexual selection in non-human primates, particularly Old World monkeys. She investigates how ecological factors like nutrition and phytochemicals influence female reproduction, mating preferences, and developmental trajectories. Her field studies span Thailand (Phayre's leaf monkeys) and Ethiopia (geladas), using hormonal analyses to link social behaviors with reproductive outcomes.
Teaching Contributions: Dr. Lu teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Human Biology, Human Anatomy, Evolution of Sex, Hormones and Behavior, and Life History and Development, bridging classroom learning with her field research.
