Her research integrates experimental laboratory work with field studies, focusing on sustainable energy systems, biomaterials development, plastic pollution impacts across nano/micro/macro scales, and STEM inclusivity initiatives. Recent projects involve microplastic database development through environmental sampling and phytoremediation studies using soil amendments on contaminated lands.
As Director of CEPlast (International Network for Circular Economy of Plastic Sustainability), she leads global collaborative efforts in plastic lifecycle management.
