Amy L. Heyse

Amy L. Heyse is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at California State University Long Beach (CSULB), affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. Her expertise lies in rhetoric and public address, with a focus on political and gendered discourse.

Her research explores the rhetoric of U.S. Presidents (e.g., Barack Obama, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy), Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, and figures like Sarah Palin. She also investigates historical topics, including the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the suppression of the woman suffrage movement.
