Amy Knight is an Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine, Department of Neurology, with concurrent appointments as Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences - Psychology. Her research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), brain imaging, and cognitive-affective dysfunction following trauma exposure.

Her research explores hippocampal and white matter changes after trauma, using MRI and fMRI to study PTSD pathophysiology.
