Amy Henderson

Amy Henderson is an Associate Professor of Economics and Department Chair at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She specializes in Environmental and Natural Resource Valuation, Pedagogy, and Equity within the court system. Her teaching focuses on Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, and Experiential Learning. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Economics from George Washington University and dual B.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Her research bridges environmental policy, pedagogical innovation, and social equity, with a focus on industrial agriculture’s environmental impacts, data-driven teaching methods, and equitable court systems. She actively involves students in data analysis and policy research, particularly through collaborations with the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns.

Professor Henderson’s external affiliations include the American Economic Association and the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. She previously contributed to workforce environment surveys as part of the Hudson Vicinage Minority Concerns Committee. Her work emphasizes translating academic research into real-world applications, fostering student engagement through hands-on projects, and advancing equity in both education and legal systems.
