Amy Faris

Amy Faris is an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University's School of Music, specializing in Commercial Music and Songwriting. A multi-talented composer, arranger, pianist, and recording artist, she teaches songwriting while maintaining an active career in music creation and performance. Her work spans rock, classical, film scores, and multimedia ballets, with notable collaborations like the Metropolis Elektro soundtrack and the documentary Between Earth and Sky.

Research & Creative Focus:
Amy's creative output bridges diverse genres, including rock, tango, disco, R&B, and cabaret. Her compositions range from film scores and ballet soundtracks to Christmas albums and rock band recordings. She explores intersections between classical techniques, modern performance art, and environmental themes through works like Between Earth and Sky: Climate Change on the Last Frontier (2017).

Notable Projects:
Co-created the 2013 Metropolis Elektro soundtrack (24-piece ensemble) and the 2017 multimedia ballet CLICK with Ballet Lubbock. Co-owns Amusement Park Recording Studio in Lubbock since 2007. Performs with Scabaret trio (2020 debut at Lubbock Lights) and released Hothouse Flower LP (2022).
