Michael McCuistion is an Emmy Award-winning composer and Adjunct Instructor in the Screen Scoring program at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. He creates music for film, television, multimedia, and concert performances, with landmark works including Batman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans, and the Oscar-winning short film My Mother Dreams The Satan’s Disciples In New York.
He earned a bachelor's degree with highest honors in classical music composition and a master's certificate in film music composition. His academic training included mentorship under Jerry Goldsmith, Irwin Kostal, Henry Mancini, and David Raksin, supported by multiple scholarships and honors.
McCuistion's creative focus encompasses Film Music Composition, Television Music, and Multimedia Integration, demonstrated through projects like Griffith Observatory's planetarium production Time's Up (experienced by millions) and the clarinet choir work Jazz Moods, premiered internationally at ClarinetFest in Assisi, Italy. His compositions have been performed at Spain's FMF Festival, Poland's Krakow Film Music Festival, and Tenerife's Fimucité Festival.
His accolades include an Emmy Award win alongside nominations for 10 Emmy Awards and five Annie Awards. As a founding partner of Dynamic Music Partners with Lolita Ritmanis and Kristopher Carter, he records globally across film, television, and concert genres. Recent outputs include the streaming film Babylon 5: The Road Home, with soundtracks available on all major platforms.
