Amy Earhart is an Associate Professor of English and affiliated faculty member in Africana Studies at Texas A&M University. A 2020 Presidential Impact Fellow and 2019 Arts & Humanities Fellow at Texas A&M, she has secured grants from the NEH, Mellon Foundation, ACLS, and Race and Ethnic Studies Institute. Her teaching, recognized by multiple awards including the Montague-CTE Scholar Teaching Award, integrates high-impact learning and digital humanities methodologies.

Earhart’s research explores the intersections of digital humanities with race and ethnicity studies, focusing on infrastructures of technology that replicate racial hierarchies and projects that expand access to Black humanities materials. Her 15 most recent publications highlight analyses of canon formation, racialized data, and pedagogical innovations in digital humanities.
Scientific Awards include the Stone of Hope Award (2024) and NEH-Mellon Fellowship (2020), alongside grants for collaborative projects like the Black Book Interactive Project and Digital Black Bibliographic Project. She serves on editorial and advisory boards for journals and initiatives such as the Journal of Computational Literary Studies and The Wayfinder Project.
Earhart’s digital projects—including The Millican Massacre, 1868 and Digital Black Bibliographic Project—demonstrate her commitment to archival restitution and community engagement. Her work bridges Black studies, book history, and digital methodologies, emphasizing ethical and inclusive practices in humanities scholarship.
