Amy E. Patterson is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Agnes Scott College. A social scientist and global health practitioner, she integrates anthropology, sociology, communications, and international studies into her teaching and research.

Her research focuses on childhood infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, maternal and reproductive health, and program evaluation. She has worked with organizations including the CDC, USAID, The Carter Center, and Save the Children, particularly on malaria, trachoma, and lymphatic filariasis programs in Ethiopia and Nigeria. Current projects explore narrative and social media methods to understand patient experiences with rare diseases and undiagnosed conditions.
Recent publications highlight her work on immunization program validation studies (2012) and mosquito net usage patterns in Ethiopia (2011). She also contributes to evaluating graduate pathways in public health and supports local organizations through the Atlanta Area Evaluation Association.
