Amy Dunham Strand, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Women's and Gender Studies Program at Aquinas College. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in 19th- and 20th-century American literature and composition and rhetoric from the University of Washington, alongside a B.A. in English from Wittenberg University.

Her research focuses on interdisciplinary historical approaches to gender, language, and citizenship in American literature and culture. Notable publications include Language, Gender, and Citizenship in American Literature, 1789-1919 (2009) and Political Prayer in Nineteenth-Century Literature: Petitioning Women (2024).
Her pedagogical interests include service learning and community engagement, rooted in her undergraduate experiences. She has published on Catharine Sedgwick's novels, American dialect studies, and suffrage history.
