Amy Cohen is a Professor at the Temple University Beasley School of Law and the inaugural Robert J. Reinstein Chair in Law. Her career spans faculty roles at The Ohio State University and UNSW Sydney, where she remains an honorary professor. She has held visiting professorships at Harvard Law School, Osgoode Hall Law School, University of Turin Faculty of Law, and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences.

Amy’s research bridges two sociolegal domains: informal justice systems as alternatives to criminal legal frameworks, and law and economic development with a focus on agricultural and food law. Her work critically examines neoliberalism, governance, and justice in global contexts, including studies on smallholder farmers in India and transnational food systems.
Her publications (15 most recent) span topics like sovereign citizen movements, climate justice in supply chains, postcapitalist legal theory, and neoliberal critiques of restorative justice. Articles appear in journals such as Law & Social Inquiry, Transnational Legal Theory, and Law, Culture, and Humanities, often addressing intersections of law, economics, and social movements.
