معرفی
Amy Chang is a Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Her research focuses on cellular responses to stress using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model organism.
- Education: A.B. in Biochemistry from Harvard University, Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Yale University.
Her lab investigates organellar interactions, particularly between mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), emphasizing protein quality control, sphingolipid homeostasis, and mitochondrial remodeling during ER stress. These studies have implications for understanding diseases linked to ER stress and mitochondrial dysfunction.
Recent publications highlight her work on yeast models for stress response, sphingolipid pathways, Golgi cargo sorting, and cross-talk between organelles. Additional interests include autophagy, very long-chain fatty acid synthesis, and retrograde signaling mechanisms.
Advising: Mentors graduate students in the MCDB program. Collaborates with postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars.
