Amy Chan

Dr. Amy Chan is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology, University of Wollongong, within the Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. She holds a PhD from UNSW Sydney and specializes in cognitive and developmental psychology, with a focus on counterfactual reasoning, decision making, and educational technology integration. Her research explores how counterfactual thoughts influence emotional experiences, decision-making processes, and skill acquisition.

Dr. Chan's teaching interests span developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and research methods, with a particular emphasis on curriculum development for large undergraduate courses. She has supervised multiple PhD and Master’s students on topics such as counterfactual thinking, missing persons' psychological responses, and family communication strategies.

Her research has been funded by grants including the National Breast Cancer Foundation and internal university initiatives.
