Amy C. Killeen, DDS, MS, is an Associate Professor and the BJ and Ann Moran Professor of Periodontology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Dentistry, Department of Surgical Specialties. Her academic roles include clinical teaching and research in periodontology, with a focus on advanced periodontal therapies, simvastatin applications, and clinical trials evaluating antimicrobial agents like minocycline. She holds certifications in Periodontology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Her research emphasizes innovative treatments for periodontal disease, including drug delivery systems and regenerative therapies. Notable contributions include studies on simvastatin’s efficacy in periodontal defect repair and the impact of home oral hygiene practices on clinical outcomes.
