Amy Akerman

Amy Akerman, PA-C serves as Associate Professor in the Pediatrics-CHA/PA Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine. She holds additional roles as Associate Director of the CU Center for Interprofessional Education and Global Health Track Advisor.

Her research focuses on:

• Developing innovative interprofessional medical education frameworks
• Substance misuse treatment strategies
• Health policy and government relations
• Addressing social determinants of health
• Promoting health and educational equity

Publications span clinical pediatrics topics and medical education innovations, with recent works analyzing Casper® score predictive capabilities and serving as contributing author to JAAPA Quick Recertification Series chapters. She actively engages in professional societies including the Colorado Association of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistant Education Association.
