Dr. Amr Suliman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Sciences, specializing in net-zero buildings and sustainable energy systems. He holds concurrent roles at Loughborough University, focusing on global net-zero strategies. His research integrates experimental methods, numerical modeling, and occupant engagement to address energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality challenges. Key projects include the 'Future of ZERO Buildings' initiative targeting net-zero building stock decarbonization and a Saudi-UK collaboration on net-zero residential buildings.
Dr. Suliman's expertise spans hydronic systems optimization, post-occupancy evaluation, and HVAC water quality diagnostics. He contributes to ASHRAE standards development as UK Chapter President and has won multiple awards including the Hilson Moran Award for MSc excellence (2020) and ASHRAE Building EQ Competition (2023).
His work emphasizes local context adaptation, from Khartoum's distributed energy systems to UK-Saudi residential comparisons. Collaborators include Jesus Lizana and Paul Shearing. Teaching contributions include advising on net-zero design and energy performance evaluation.
