Amit Bhasin

Dr. Amit Bhasin is a Professor and Director of the Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas at Austin, holding the Adnan Abou-Ayyash Centennial Professorship in Transportation Engineering. He leads research on infrastructure materials and transportation systems, with expertise in asphalt mixture performance modeling and sustainable pavement technologies.

His research develops fundamental models linking material properties to asphalt performance, evaluates additives for energy-efficient mixtures, and characterizes binder-aggregate interactions. Current projects investigate fatigue cracking mechanisms and moisture sensitivity in transportation infrastructure.
