Assoc Prof Amirul Islam is a Senior Research Fellow (honorary) at The University of Melbourne and the Founder of an NGO in Bangladesh. His academic journey began with a PhD in Biostatistics from The University of Queensland, followed by roles at National University of Singapore, University of Western Australia, and The University of Melbourne. He combines statistical rigor with public health impact through his work in Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Ophthalmic Studies, and Health Literacy Assessment.
