Amir Aminifar is an Associate Professor (Docent) at Lund University's Department of Electrical and Information Technology (LTH). He holds positions in multiple profile areas: Engineering Health, AI and Digitalization, Natural and Artificial Cognition, and Water. His primary focus spans federated/edge machine learning, privacy-preserving systems, and medical informatics. He completed his PhD at Linköping University (2016) and worked as a Scientist at EPFL (2016–2020).

- Current Roles: Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Researcher in Secure and Networked Systems, and member of ELLIIT and NEXTG2COM initiatives.
Research interests include energy-efficient machine learning, trustworthy AI, medical IoT, and wearable health technologies. Recent work emphasizes federated learning applications in healthcare, privacy in edge computing, and real-time seizure detection via wearable devices. Collaborations span academia and industry, addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation.
Active projects include Explainable AI for disease surveillance (2025–2027), Secure Edge Computing (2024–2029), and Future Manufacturing through Real-Time Analytics (2024–2025). He leads or co-leads initiatives like NEXTG2COM (advanced digitalization) and FEMTRAC (eco-efficient manufacturing).
