معرفی
Amir Akhaveissy is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at McMaster University. His research focuses on structural engineering with emphasis on the behavior and design of concrete and masonry structures under extreme loading conditions including seismic events and fire exposure.
His primary research interests include:
- Experimental and computational analysis of fracture mechanics in concrete structures
- Seismic design methodologies for reinforced concrete and hybrid structural systems
- Performance assessment and retrofitting techniques for fire-damaged structures
- Advanced numerical modeling of masonry-infilled frames and structural components
- Development of displacement-based design approaches for earthquake-resistant structures
Dr. Akhaveissy's recent publications (2013-2025) demonstrate consistent focus on structural resilience, featuring experimental investigations of concrete fracture parameters, seismic reliability analysis of braced frames, fire performance evaluations, and meso-scale computational modeling. His work frequently appears in leading structural engineering journals including Structures, Construction and Building Materials, and Engineering Fracture Mechanics.
No information is currently available regarding research grants, supervised students, or laboratory affiliations.
