Amin Mirkouei

Amin Mirkouei is Associate Professor of Industrial Technology at the University of Idaho, specializing in sustainable resource recovery systems. Directs the Renewable and Sustainable Manufacturing Lab (RSML) developing circular economy solutions.

Research focuses on phytomining for rare earth elements, biochar applications in water treatment, and life-cycle assessment of waste valorization pathways. Recent work establishes techno-economic frameworks for domestic rare earth production and nutrient recovery from agricultural waste.
