Amin Joodaky serves as an Assistant Professor in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University, housed within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His expertise spans packaging dynamics, nonlinear vibrations, and composite materials mechanics, with applications in transportation safety and material science.
Dr. Joodaky earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, and holds a teaching and learning certificate from Purdue's School of Engineering Education.
His research focuses on experimental and analytical mechanics of composite structures, including multi-axis vibration replication during transportation, characterization of polymer foams and corrugated boards, shock-absorbing metamaterials design, and AI integration in packaging dynamics. He also explores engineering education methodologies and curriculum development.
Dr. Joodaky actively recruits Master’s and PhD students for Fall 2024/Spring 2025 requiring mechanical/civil engineering (solid mechanics focus) or packaging backgrounds. His teaching portfolio includes PKG 410 (Distribution Packaging Dynamics), PKG 805 (Advanced Packaging Dynamics), and PKG 432 (Packaging Processes).
