Amera Strand

Clinical Assistant Professor Amera Strand is affiliated with the Department of Physician Assistant, where she focuses on preparing future physician assistants (PAs) to prioritize patient dignity and quality healthcare. Currently practicing urgent care medicine, she previously worked as a primary care PA for six years, leading HIV care initiatives at a federally qualified healthcare center in Philadelphia.

Her academic interests center on women’s health, infectious diseases, and diagnostics in medicine, with advocacy efforts aimed at diversifying the PA profession and addressing healthcare disparities. She emphasizes patient-centered care, stating: “My goal is to prepare our future PAs to become providers that make patients feel worthy, accepted, and respected while delivering the best healthcare possible.”
