Amer Awwad

Dr. Amer Awwad is a Senior Research Scientist at Florida International University's Applied Research Center with over 30 years of experience in applied research and development. He leads ARC's engineering services group and specializes in heat transfer, HVAC systems, fluid dynamics, and groundwater remediation. A licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, he holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, M.S. in Environmental Engineering, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

His research focuses on sustainable engineering solutions for industrial and environmental challenges. He has developed innovative concrete testing technology that earned recognition at the FIU Inventors Reception. His recent publications examine material durability in harsh environments, particularly polymer components in waste transfer systems and advanced concrete assessment methods.
