Amentahru Wahlrab is an Associate Professor and Graduate Advisor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Texas at Tyler. His research bridges global studies, populism studies, nonviolent resistance, and political economy. He co-leads the PIE Lab, which analyzes populisms, ideologies, and extremisms using mixed methods. Wahlrab also serves as Book Review Editor for Populism and co-edits the Global Populisms book series.

Research Interests
Wahlrab explores intersections between globalization and political violence, focusing on nonviolent movements, global populisms, and transnational ideologies. Recent projects include analyzing January 6 insurrection dynamics and Dayton's immigrant integration strategies.
Publications
Key works include What is Global Studies? (2017) with Manfred Steger, and edited volumes like U.S. Approaches to the Arab Uprisings (2018). His articles examine topics ranging from hip-hop's role in African activism to security studies and white supremacist ideologies.
