Amelia Wenger is a former Research Fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies, James Cook University. Her research focuses on linking ecological and spatial data to assess coastal and marine systems' responses to environmental threats, aiding management decisions. She prioritizes biodiversity protection through collaborative projects with Australian and international agencies.
Education: B.A. in Biology (Barnard College, Columbia University); Graduate Diploma and PhD (James Cook University).
Research Interests: Coral reef resilience, management interventions, and decision support systems. Collaborative projects include dredging impacts on fisheries (WAMSI Dredging Science node), Melanesian fisheries runoff effects, and Myanmar coral reef health.
Labs/Teams: Conservation Planning research group (led by Prof. Bob Pressey).
