Amelia Spooner is a Research Fellow at the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies (BCDSS) at the University of Bonn, supported by the Heinz-Heinen-Fellowship. She holds an affiliation with Columbia University, US. Her current project, titled "Formally Free: Regulating Work in the French Empire, 1820s–1870s", examines labor regulations and legal frameworks in colonial contexts.
