Amber Grace Young

Amber Grace Young serves as Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Director of the ISYS PhD Program at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma, an MBA in Leadership and Organizational Development from Oklahoma Christian University, and a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Young's research program centers on how organizations can design and implement technologies for social good and human empowerment, with particular attention to the effects of technology on individuals' humanity and dignity. Her scholarly contributions demonstrate a consistent focus on:

Her work spans from early research on gender bias in Wikipedia to current investigations of ethical AI frameworks and responsible research practices. Dr. Young has been recognized with the Isenberg Research Excellence Award from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst. Her publications appear in top-tier journals including MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, and Information & Organization. She serves on the editorial board of Information & Organization, contributing to scholarly discourse in critical information systems research.

As Director of the ISYS PhD Program, Dr. Young plays a key role in mentoring the next generation of information systems scholars. Her teaching interests include systems development and project management, aligning with her research focus on practical applications of information systems for positive social impact.
