Amber Bechard

Dr. Amber Bechard is an Associate Professor and Program Chair of Inclusive Education at the LaFetra College of Education, University of La Verne. She also serves as Associate Director of Literacy and Outreach for the Center for Neurodiversity, Learning, and Wellness, leading initiatives like the dyslexia teacher training program. With 28 years of K-12 teaching experience in general and special education, she specializes in teacher preparation, multicultural education, and inclusive practices.

Her research focuses on co-teaching, dyslexia, and global competency in education. She teaches courses on assessment, literacy, and supports student teachers. Dr. Bechard holds advanced degrees in education and multiple teaching credentials, including National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Literacy.

Her work emphasizes bridging educational silos and integrating neurodiversity with multiculturalism in teacher training. Recent scholarship includes mindfulness integration in study abroad programs and state policy impacts on education funding.
