معرفی
Dr. Amber Annett is a Lecturer in the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on marine biogeochemistry, particularly the cycling of trace metals like iron and their interactions with climate change. She employs naturally occurring radioactive isotopes (e.g., radium, thorium) to quantify nutrient fluxes from marine sediments and glacial meltwater.
Current research emphasizes how warming impacts iron supplies from sediment and glacial sources, with projects investigating coastal and open-ocean sediment dynamics. She leads collaborative studies on Antarctic ocean mixing and glacial calving effects, funded by interdisciplinary grants.
Amber supervises three active PhD students through the INSPIRE program and has published extensively on topics like benthic nutrient fluxes and fjord silicon isotopes. She contributes to long-term Antarctic monitoring via the Rothera Research Station dataset.
Her work integrates field observations with isotope geochemistry, addressing critical gaps in understanding climate-driven changes in ocean biogeochemical cycles.
