Amber Anand is the Edward Pettinella Professor of Finance at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, where she has been since 2001. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Baruch College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her research focuses on market microstructure, including market design, transaction cost analysis, and informed investor behavior. She has served as a visiting scholar at the SEC and FINRA.
Teaching roles span undergraduate, MBA, online-MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Notable awards include the Whitman School's Exceptional Teaching Award and the Oberwager Mentoring Award. Research contributions appear in top journals like the Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies.
Professional experience includes investment banking roles alongside academic work. Current appointments emphasize financial market analysis and regulatory impact studies.
