Amba Sayal-Bennett

Amba Sayal-Bennett is a British-Indian artist and University of the West of England lecturer living in London. She co-founded Cypher Billboard, an artist-run public program, and has exhibited internationally including solo shows at indigo+madder and Carbon12. Her practice explores posthumanism, material agency, and postcolonial critiques of Modernist architecture.

Research Interests combine sculpture, drawing, and projection to interrogate abstraction’s exclusionary tendencies. Her work Architectures of Excess (2023) reclaimed Modernism’s repressed ornamentation while A Mechanised Thought (2020) examined technology’s performative dynamics. Residencies at CERN and British School at Rome inform her science-art collaborations.
