Amaney A. Jamal is the Dean of Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and holds the Edwards S. Sanford Professorship of Politics at Princeton University. She is also a Professor of Politics and International Affairs, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa, political development, and immigration studies.

Her research explores the interplay of civic associations and democratization in the Arab world, mass political behavior, inequality, and the role of religion in immigration debates. She has contributed to journals like American Journal of Political Science and Comparative Political Studies.
Jamal leads the Workshop on Arab Political Development and the Bobst Center-American University of Beirut Collaborative Initiative. She co-founded the Arab Barometer Project, which secured over $5 million in grants from institutions such as the National Science Foundation and Carnegie Corporation of New York.
