Amando Lasabuda is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Global Postdoc at the Centre for Planetary Habitability, University of Oslo. His research focuses on reconstructing paleo-bathymetry/topography of the Barents Sea and simulating sediment source-to-sink systems as part of the BRAVO project. He holds a PhD in Geology from UiT The Arctic University of Norway (2018) and has held visiting roles at the University of Sydney (2023–present), Royal Holloway University of London (2022–2023), and Alfred Wegener Institute (2017).
His academic career includes roles as an Equinor Researcher (2018–2023) and Exploration Geologist at Rocksource ASA (2013–2014). His expertise lies in tectono-stratigraphy, basin analysis, and numerical modeling of sedimentary systems.
- Research Interests: Source-to-sink dynamics, Cenozoic tectonics, glacial erosion, Arctic sedimentology, seismic interpretation.
- Key Projects: BRAVO project (Barents Sea paleo-reconstruction), stratigraphic forward modeling of multi-source systems.
Lasabuda has published extensively in journals like Marine Geology, Earth-Science Reviews, and Communications Earth & Environment, with a focus on Arctic and Norwegian Sea geology. His work integrates seismic and well data with numerical models to understand tectonic-climatic interactions.
