Amanda Winburn

Dr. Amanda Winburn is an Associate Professor at the University of Mississippi in the Department of Leadership and Counselor Education, part of the School of Education. She serves as Assistant Department Chair and Program Coordinator for the Ed.S. in School Counseling Leadership. Her research focuses on School-Based Play Therapy, School Counseling, Bullying Prevention, and Counselor Advocacy.

Dr. Winburn holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Mississippi (2013), an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership (2009), and a M.Ed. in School Counseling (2005). She is a licensed professional counselor and school counselor, with certifications including National Certified School Counselor and Registered Play Therapist.

Research Highlights: Her work spans bullying intervention strategies, play therapy efficacy, and counselor well-being. Notable contributions include studies on telemental health accessibility in Mississippi and the impact of workaholism tendencies among school counselors.
