Amanda Shankland

Amanda Shankland is a Research Fellow in Water Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Carleton University. Her work focuses on social ecology, food sovereignty, water management, and rural development, with an emphasis on advancing ecologically sustainable agriculture through political reform. Dr. Shankland’s research bridges environmental policy and rural community dynamics, as exemplified by her book Cultivating Community, which analyzes water policy in Australia’s Murray-Darling Basin.
