Her research investigates how prenatal environmental exposures (e.g., stress, toxicants) and family dynamics interact with genetic and individual child factors to shape developmental outcomes like social competence, psychopathology, and neurodevelopmental competencies. She has three primary research lines: (1) prenatal exposure impacts, (2) family risk processes, and (3) integrated developmental pathways. Recent work focuses on disparities in toxicant exposure and their developmental consequences.
Recent publications analyze prenatal organophosphate ester exposure, maternal smoking, and family interactions in relation to child ADHD, language ability, executive function, and DNA methylation. Her work emphasizes gene-environment interplay and longitudinal cohort studies, particularly using Norwegian data.
