معرفی
Dr Amanda Pettersen is an Affiliate Researcher in the School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow. Her work integrates evolutionary ecology with metabolic physiology to understand how energy use and environmental conditions shape organismal life histories across generations.
Research Interests:
- Evolutionary significance of metabolic-rate variation
- Temperature-dependent selection and thermal plasticity
- Intergenerational (transgenerational) effects on offspring phenotypes
- Life-history trade-offs and energetic constraints
Her recent 2024 articles in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B explore whether metabolic-rate differences carry evolutionary weight and how parental thermal environments align with selection on offspring metabolic rates, highlighting the ecological and evolutionary consequences of environmental change.
