Amanda F. Grzyb is a Professor at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Information and Media Studies, with affiliate roles in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies, and the Centre for Transitional Justice. Her research focuses on documenting state violence, genocide studies, and participatory community projects. She leads the Surviving Memory in Postwar El Salvador initiative, a $5.6M SSHRC-funded partnership involving survivors, scholars, and artists to document the Salvadoran Civil War and promote justice.
Dr. Grzyb holds a Ph.D. in English from Duke University (2007), with earlier degrees from Western University. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the FIMS Award for Teaching Excellence (2022, 2012) and the CAUT Dedicated Service Award (2022).
