Amanda Evans

Amanda Evans is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree from UT Austin and medical training at UT Medical Branch in Galveston, followed by a pediatrics residency at Georgetown University Hospital and a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at UT Southwestern. Her research focuses on the pathogenesis of respiratory diseases in children, particularly interactions between viral and bacterial co-infections.

• Research Interests: Investigates viral and bacterial co-infection dynamics in human cell tissue models, emphasizing Moraxella catarrhalis and RSV co-infection in acute otitis media to identify therapeutic targets.
